on a different note where are these erotic thrillers gone these days? nobody makes them with any A listers or an upcoming actress? everybody afraid of Me too? or feminist backlash? its a pity because late 80’s to early 2000’s was the golden era for these kind of movies. lets be honest here after all Sex Sells!
There are 2 things 1.. the audiences in the states , via content a lot is being pushed ( dont wish to elaborate really )
and secondly the global market …
Movies have a global market now and to satiate different age groups and sensibilities of different countries, movies are made with this in mind.
They have come to realize that for sex, well Porn is freely available, so they are resorting to ideas that can be termed as more universal and easily saleable, at-least with bigger stars …
Just grab movies by Client Eastwood , he is one of those who have given so much back to cinema by making movies on all sorts of stuff with great star cast , there are very many others too but they were in the past , now Nolan brothers , Quentin Tarantino , David Fincher and some others are there forgetting names lol.
As it is I dont really watch newer movies that much.
Just rewatched Lucy and found it pretty entertaining , Saw The Expatriate yesterday and it was decent too, simple coz it was from my fav genre…
