If you are wondering why 2GB for x265 for 127Hours — its because of the sort of graphics this movie has , they are pretty complex , lots of handheld footage too so to do justice the bitrate and size..
I remember back in 2010 when I did this original BR , I used to wonder why on earth this rip comes out so fuzzy and pixelated , Yes we used to use low bitrate but even with higher ones it was fuzzy ,
The reason was the kind of graphics it has , this requires a lot of bitrate to remain crisp.
If x265 encoder had to give it 3000 bitrate then to have similar quality x264 would need roughly 5500 to 6000 bitrate with similar encoder settings :O
