well i checked the sample and the bitrate for video was 1071kbps. nowhere near 2000. are u talking about the total bitrate adding the audio as well?
and yes if u are going to do the 720p plz boost the bitrate as well bcz on 55″ screens it shows clearly if u ahve low bitrate
No mate gladiator 1080p x265 rip has 2075 as bitrate audio bitrate is separate, chk again
For a 55 inch screen always download 1080p rips period
as for 720p beleiv me I am so badly in mood to give them a boost depending upon sort of content but you guys wont accept a 720p of around 1.8GB even if it was crspy clear 🙁
As an example let me discuss the recently updated Emma , The ideal size based on the details and intricacies of the video was to be around 1.6 to 1.75GB , But I dont think anyone who comes here looking for small sized rips would digest that size for a movie like Emma , This is why I had abandon that encode and had to reencode afresh in around 1GB size.
But I really feel Its time to look for better video ( coz I can safely say I have nearly made my audio files very good 😉 ) with new LCD & LED screens the video needs more bits , More bits need more size.
Yes I am doing quite a few tricks before processing via filters but they also need some ground , which is made available to them filters by those extra bits in terms of bitrate and ultimately size.
scorp can u tell the bitrate on this version. im thinking more than 2000 bcz its almost 3gb!
I ll be honest in last 1 month I encoded a hell number of classics and newer movies in 1080p
Apart from a couple I felt they all were wanting , and big time 🙁
Didnt really like what I was seeing on big screen , hence I have made drastic changes at every level and the last change was source specific bitrate .
Gladiator has been given around 2075 😉 bitrate, Check the sample , you ll love it for sure :). The size is bigger as the movie is also of longish duration, AS ITS THE EXTENDED VERSION so its around 3h roughly so 3GB is very very nominal.
we watch 1080ps for the sheer quality both in terms of audio and video and if it comes with fuzzy margins and artifacts then whats the use 🙁
hence I was experimenting a lot from scratch , scripts , filters , choice of sources , encoder pgm , encoding settings , bitrates and all.
I am happy that the current setup ( though still flawed;) ) is pretty decent.
If we wanted same gladiator quality via x264 then the file size would be around 5.8GB at least 😉
will post a 720p version of gladiator as well , may be tomorrow 🙂
