Welcome to the strange world of IMDB ratings and Metascores: While “Play Dead” (an effectuive horror thriller that is entertaining and offers a convincing story and atmosphere) got a rating below 6, this “Sick” flick made it above 6. But why, I ask myself. “Sick” should actually be called “Stupid”. The movie offers absolutely nothing we have not seen a thousand times. Among all the inflitrated house horror cliches is also the very grave one: all the characters in this flick behave like stupid idiots. The script is so full of logical error, that you could use this film for a drinking game: whenever you spot an error, drink. (Or better don’t, I guess it will be dangerous to your health.) 😉 The characters are flat if not empty, the story is barely there, and everything that happens can be easily expected. Of course this is only my personal opinion, but this movie is a waste of time. Better see: “PLay Dead”, or, of your want to be enjoyed by a really good movie go to “Bank of Dave”, a great feel good movie with a real story and real people in it! 🙂
